Is this case waterproof?

Pelican TX50 Adventure Case is not officially rated as fully waterproof or submersible. However, it is weather-resistant thanks to its construction and the heavy-duty rubber gasket in the lid, which keeps out moisture and debris—ensuring it protects against rain, splashes, and dust.

Is there a warranty for this case?

Yes! Like most Pelican products, the Pelican TX50 Adventure Case is backed by a limited lifetime warranty against breakage or defects in workmanship under normal use.

Can I use this case for air travel?

No. Pelican TX50 Adventure Case is not TSA-certified for air travel as checked luggage, but it is great for vehicle-based travel, over-landing, and outdoor gear storage. For air travel, Pelican makes other hard cases that meet airline requirements, as well as a line of luggage cases.

Are there mounting brackets available?

No, there are currently no mounting brackets available for the Pelican TX50 Adventure Case. The only way to secure it to your vehicle is to use something like a ratchet strap through the tie-down points under the case's handles.

The Pelican TX50 Adventure Case is constructed with rotomolded polypropylene plastic, making it extremely durable and impact-resistant. The hardware is E-coated steel for added corrosion resistance, even in rugged outdoor conditions.

What is E-coated steel?

The latches and tie-downs on the Pelican TX50 Adventure Caseare made of E-coated (short for electro-coated) steel, which is steel that has been treated with an electrically applied paint coating that helps protect it from rust, corrosion, and wear.

During the process, the steel parts are submerged in a special paint solution and then an electrical charge is used to evenly coat every surface—even hard-to-reach corners and crevices. After coating, the parts are baked to cure the finish, creating a durable, smooth, and protective layer that’s much more resilient than traditional paint or powder coating alone.
