The Pelican 1740 Case

From stargazing on the top of Mount Everest to a photoshoot in the forests of the Amazon, the 1740 is your ideal method for protecting a telescope, jack hammer, rifles, chainsaw, tripods and lights, and other long gear. We developed the 1740 for easy one person transport and it's depth and length allow for infinite storage possibilities. A silicone O-ring is fit into a groove in the lid of each Pelican case. This provides the famous IP67 waterproof rating that Pelican cases are known for.

Customizable Cubed Foam Insert

Order your Pelican 1740 Case empty or with a removable cubed (pick 'n' pluck) foam insert. The foam is scored into cubes so you can create compartments to store and protect your gear. Lay out your gear, mark the foam, and start plucking out the cubes.

Secure your gear inside the Pelican 1740 Case. There are stainless-steel reinforced hasps beside every latch so you can secure your gear in a locked case using a standard combo/keyed padlock or TSA lock.

A woven, waterproof membrane in the valve ensures air molecules pass through while keeping water molecules out.

Your case stays dry and the air pressure inside remains equal to the outside air pressure—preventing a vacuum lock from forming when transporting your Pelican case between altitudes.
